Here prayed
the undying glory of his race,
the proclaimer of the oneness of the peoples,
the divine poet:
he sang the faith divinely,
he exalted the virgin mother.

The cancellation quotes all but the first and last lines: "SUAE GENTIS / IMPERITURA GLORIA / UNITATIS ASSERTOR / POPULORUM / DIVUS POETA / FIDEM CECINIT DIVINE". The current plaque in the church was apparently installed on May 31, 1979.

The right side of the cancellation is occupied by the coat of arms of the Holy See with text as follows: "POSTE / VATICANE" (Vatican mail), "DIE EMISSIONIS" (day of issue), and the date.]]>
