Postage Stamp - Sovereign Military Order of Malta - 2021
The Sovereign Military Order of Malta—recognized as a stamp-issuing body by the Sassone catalog—was the first entity to issue Dante stamps in 2021. The first stamp shows an anonymous illustration of Mount Purgatory found in a fifteenth-century Florentine manuscript (Ms. BR 215, 78v) of the <em>Divina commedia</em> now in the Biblioteca Nazionale Centrale, Florence, Italy. The second stamp features Raphael's portrait of Dante in a detail from the artist's fresco painting <em>The Parnassus</em>. The third shows Paradise depicted in a fifteenth-century manuscript in the Vatican Library. Three thousand sets of the stamps were printed on numbered mini-sheets by Cartor, La Loupe, France.

Postage Stamp - Ajman - 1972
<span>These two stamps are part of a set of six stamps celebrating paintings by Raphael. One stamp shows Raphael's <em>The Parnassus</em> and the other shows his </span><em>Disputation of the Holy Sacrament</em>. B<span>oth frescoes are in the Stanza della Segnatura (Room of the Signatura), part of the so-called "Raphael Rooms" in the Apostolic Palace in Vatican City. In <em>The Parnassus</em>, Dante is the first standing figure from the left in the upper row. In the <em>Disputation</em>, he is the eighth from the right in the lower row, although he is difficult to distinguish in this stamp.<br /><br />Across the bottom of the 75-dirham stamp is a caption as follows: "</span><em>Raffaello: Parnassus</em><span>"; across the bottom of the 2-riyals stamp is "<em>Raffaello: The Dispute</em>". At the bottom of both stamps are the denomination and country in English and in Arabic.</span>

This air mail postage stamp was issued by Mexico to commemorate the 700th anniversary of Dante's birth. The stamp features a portrait of Dante based on the portrait in Raphael's fresco painting <em>The Parnassus</em>. The stamp has text as follows: at the top: "AEREO-MEXICO"; below Dante's chin: "1965"; and at the bottom: "$2.<sup><span style="text-decoration:underline;">00</span></sup> / 1265 DANTE 1321". Along the bottom edge are the name of the designer, "LACAYO.", the artist "RAFAEL SANZIO", and the abbreviated name of the printer, "T.I.E.V." This stamp was issued by Cambodia as part of a series celebrating the 500th anniversary of the birth of the painter Raphael. The stamp features a detail from Raphael's painting <em>The Parnassus</em> showing the poets Dante, Homer, and Virgil. This cinderella stamp from the fictional nation of Verneland features Raphael's portrait of Dante from the artist's fresco painting <em>The Parnassus</em>. The stamp is printed directly onto the cover envelope which has a cachet of Giotto's portrait of Dante with text as follows: "FAMOUS VICTIMS / WHO DIED OF MALARIA" and "DANTE ALIGHIERI / Italian poet, died of malaria in 1321". The cover also shows a mosquito.
